7 things about myself includes: (Uhh, cam akan ulang je ape penah tulis sblm ni coz takde idea)

• I am 30 years old but only have 29 teeth haha.. aci ke baru tumbuh 1/2 of my wisdom tooth. Tu pun mcm nak kene buang je sbb tumbuh sgt tak cantik and scraping my cheeks


• I ♥ snail mail! Like, really crazy about them! Even in the age of e-mails and stuff, nothing tops snail mail. I can write 7-8 pages average for each letter and I like pasting mcm² on the pages or envelope. And eventhough I don't expect people to reply it that much, I ♥ getting replies and replying jugak to that reply hehe..


• Sy tak pandai masak dan sy sgt heran nape ramai org ckp camtu haha.. even kwn² skola also say that so I'm like, bile mase korg makan bende sy masak? But its a good motivator to make me really try to cook ☺


• I'm not a risk-taker. In fact, I run away from anything that I have NO inkling of the outcome if I try it but I recently did something I would've never imagined myself doing in a million years. well, that was before la, now that I've done it, I can't really say that la kan..


• I'm also a very private person.. though recent happeneings have made me question on how 'private' I am hahahah..


• I'm a lefty.. and proud of it! And no matter how many tags I have to do 'about myself', I'm always gonna write this down

Contrary to the belief that I'm a sucker for chocolate, I don't like chocolate flavoured ice-cream. Jap, bkn don't like, more like don't prefer it that much. My favourtie is the ol'skool flavour: Raspberry Ripple! Tp skrg jarang jumpe so I'd settle for Vanilla.. lgpun, raspberry ripple tu is basically vanilla with ripples of raspberry sauce pun kan ♥

Uishh.. cam tau² ja Zha ni =p Actually, planning tu ade la since my hair almost at my waist dah skrg.. but as usual la, malas giler nak gi potong rambut. Potong sendiri kang, lain plak jadinye hehe..

1. Sy bukan org yg kidal.. cume tgn kanan dan tgn kiri sy terbalik dari org len :p

2. Spt dikatekan dlm entry lepas, sgt cepat attach ngan org even klau baru kenal. Reason why my brothers hate me whenever they break up with anyone sbb I usually side on their (ex)girlfriends and not them haha.. Hambik korg, sape suh kenalkan ngan kak Yong korg nih hahah :p

3. Dlm kete klau drive sensorg, suke nyanyi smbil dok feel sorg².. pastu termalu bile pasan org kiri kanan dok sengih je tgk or bile pegi kelas and student ckp, "Cikgu, aritu sy nmpk cikgu nyanyi sambil nari² dlm kete" hehe..

4. Mase sekolah org panggil 'beluting' (Thanx Ami for correcting me on the right term! :p) sbb comot semedang.. and fast forward to 16 years later, I haven't changed a bit *malu*

5. P.E.N.D.E.K! Tapi pasan cam tinggi.. (150cm tu tinggi hape?)

6. Tak penah outgrow the 'saya-awak' used during primary. Sampai skrg sy ckp camtu with rakan sebaya and even with my students. I strongly suspect that I'll never learn to talk using 'aku-hang' or 'aku-kau' so Baizurah, you can stop crossing your fingers :p

7. Also never outgrew being ticklish (my worst enemies are people who tickle me ;p) and the tendency to shriek like perempuan gedik everytime I'm suprised (and I get suprised VERY easily tau.. sgt malu!) Not that I don't try but the shriek comes out before my head says STOP and then sy akan sgt termalu sbb mcm sgt gedik je rase!

8. Actually masih pemalu hahah.. I know some people say I'm bubbly (to MY suprise actually) and friendly but I'm actually intimidated by people I meet for the first (second, third, fourth, fifth bla.. bla..) time. Sbb tu some people might think sy ni memilih kawan kot sbb ngan people I've known for quite some time, I talk a lot tp ngan org yg baru jumpe (or dah lame jumpe but jarang jumpe), I'm always at loss for words so I usually avoid looking at them coz I'm sooooo afraid they expect me to initiate a conversation with them :D

Takde la sampai kitorg jadik pyro psycho, tp tiap kali kitorg boring bile Cikgu Zainiyah ngaja (which was like almost everyday haha..), mule le tgn gatal dok ngusik penunu Bunsen atas meja tu!

21. Eh lupe! Penah buat ‘buku’ beramai² ngan kawan² mase form 2. Tak ingt sgt sape lg co-author tp there was me, Mak Su, Ami, Shareena, Bai (?), Sarina. Style buku yg sy tulis skit pastu nanti ade org len sambung then pass² la kat sape yg tgh boring. We complied dekat 2 buku kulit tebal tu tau hehe.. Mane la ye perginye buku tu.. teringin nak bace balik!

Tp klau sy tak close sgt, paling kurang sy mesti bg card. Tak kire perempuan atau lelaki, sebaya atau tua atau mude. Bukan shj utk birthday, tp klau sy pegi mane² n jumpe bende yg sy rase kawan sy akan suke, mesti sy beli (KALAU ade duit lebey la.. klau pokai takde rezeki la hehe..) Why do like that picture?

This is an old photo. I just found it a couple of hours ago and thought I'd put it in this tag. It might not be my favourite photo in this PC (I have another one which isn't supposed to be my favourite coz it hurts everytime I look at it :( ), but its one of my most treasured memories. It was during a motivational camp we did for MRSM Transkerian and I was one of the invited facilitators for the program. We were doing the 'Burung Hantu' thingey and the guy beside me, Pian, was my partner-cum-mentee since it was his first time as a facilitator. I had initially thought he was one of the students due to his youthful looks haha.. we had fun that night, teasing the students and bonding with them. I really enjoyed the whole weekend spent with them :)

Last Tuesday!! Heheh.. bought a large pizza and ate 2 slices while stowing the remaining 6 slices in the fridge for next time :)

Who is number one?

One of my best buddies in the whole world. We've had our ups and downs of course.. but somehow we always pick up right were we left :) I was her maid of honour during her wedding and though I never told her, I still think she's the cutest bride I've ever seen. (DO NOT REPEAT THIS TO ME, Baizurah!)

Number three is having relationship with?

MARRIED maaa.. and I laugh whenever I think of her 'story'.. kan kak Nurul kaaaaaaannn.. sembelih kambing, right? Hehehe..

Say something about number five?

My classmate from form 1 to form 3 and dormate in form 2. I slept on the top bunk but always used her bed as 'tempat bersandar' hehe.. Have a lot of memories with her and one of these day, kite kene jumpe and reminisce about old days tau, Watie :)

How about number four?

Someone who looked after me when I was a timid girl in standard 4 even when she was a popular girl of standard 6. Also the person responsible for teaching me to trust fellow bookworms and how to take care of my books hehe.. seriously, you should see the way she takes care of her books. I personally 'witnessed' that about 19 years ago and that made me a better person towards books :)

Who is number two?

A very close friend during the Uni years. Her bed was where I cried and my bed was where she let go of her frustrations hehe.. we repeated Structural Theory 'secare berjemaah' during our final year and took Arabic class (with her scoring more than ME who had 5 years of Arabic in AlMashoor.. sheesh! Ade ke..!) Penah jugak round KCP on our bike on some afternoons.. kan Un? :)

Nothing much, just the same as usual. Trying to have some good interest in my research (which I find quite hard to like :p) while teaching classes almost everyday (which I don't really have a hard time liking!)

"This is a picture taken a few years ago (Ohhhh, sy sedang menipu! A FEW years?!?!) when we were still in Newcastle. From left to right: Adi (if you see closely, dia tengah 'operate' Thomas -tgk Watie, leh gang ngan anak awak je klau umo diorg same hehe..) with Izzuddin close behind, then Iwan looking a bit left out but focusing on the camera, then me NOT ready for the picture (alasan...) and the rosy cheeked Ayeen. I must be around 5-6 years old coz that outfit was bought near the time we came back here.

Ohh, btw, my siblings are only Iwan and Adi je dlm the photo. Ayeen can also be considered a sister laa, as we grew up together. Dulu she worked in Intel but now she's in Terengganu, teaching ke ek Ayeen?

Gosh! I can't believe we've all grown up.. Ayeen gave me this photo a few years ago.. rasenye this photo dah penah masuk this blog, if I'm not mistaken la.. Perasan tak care Adi n Ayeen duduk (btw, they are of same age)? The budak² type of duduk which I can't do now due to old creaking joints hahah.. but believe it or not, Adi sampai skrg kadang duduk camtu gak hehe.. though dah lame gak la tak tengok dia duduk camtu.."

Workstation tag?!?

This is a first hahah..

As tag yang buh gambo, this is my second la. Tp tak penah pun kene tag on my workstation. But there's a first to everything kan so here's my cube. Sorry that I can't display a neater cube hahah.. like I said a few entries ago, dalam dapat buang sampah satu plastik beg hitam besar tu, sy nye cube cam tadek beze pun.. Uhh, masih kecewe!

Anyway, this is the view of my cube dari pintu depan bilik postgrad. See the comics on my partition. Those are from http://www.phdcomics.com/. I had pasted them during the final stages of my MSc as I kept being distracted by people peeping into my cube (Ye la, mine is the first visibly occupied cube so indirectly, I'm the kaunter pertanyaan for the room) Tp upenye lagi teruk! After pasting them, laaaaaagi ramai benti at my cube sebab nak bace the comics.. cehhh!

This is my actually workstation. PC ni dah lame, eversince my MSc.. tapi dah orang bagi, amik je la kan.. Jangan complain banyak la Ayu heheh.. When I first started my PhD, Dr Farhan had asked if I wanted a new pc. Tp PC ni ade sentimental value la kot, siang malam ngadap mase writing for my thesis so sayang la jugak nak berpisah.

The bear on top to hadiah dari Yun for my 2* tak ingat birthday. The kangaroo and koala bear pulak adiah from Bebe when he went to Australia a few years back. Tetibe je dpt parcel and tengok ade 2 menatang cute ini. Sgt suke hehe.. Kat belakang those two, ade this musical frame from kak Wahid for my birthday jugak a few years back (jugek tak ingat birthday ke berape!)

Erkkk, adeh! tak pasan plak Oreos I makan tadi tak simpan before taking the pictures.

Di sebelah PC ku ini terdapat dinding ini yang mempunyai pelbagai bende yang tidak dapat dikategorikan. There's Yun, Ana, As and Afizal's addresses, a few quotes I like, IC numbers of Izati, Ikram and Adi (nape I simpan ek Adi?), acc num Izati (kes mintak duit lah ni hehe..), titles of books I want to buy, Dunkin Donut Garfiled card, the lyrics for the song My Wish by Rascal Flatts, picture of me and my siblings minus Iwan sbb dia tak balik raya time tu and another picture of us eating laksa at Farah's house, id and password for Neopets of Dgon and Ramlah, in case they ask me to collect their freebies, two colourful notes from Dgon to me (thanx Dgon! :)), ticket to Muzium Diorama Mahsuri (cut me some slack la.. 1st time I went to Langkawi nih heheh..) and a Melaka book mark.. errkk, ade lagi ke ek?

This one below plak the wall near the 'entrance' of my cube yang nasib baik tak dirosakkan semase incident 'Nescafe' itu. Mostly it has souveniers my friends have given me, keychains, bookmarks and stuff. But what I treasure most is the photo collage here. It has pictures of my Carebears, me and our winning team for the JKR Treasure Hunt, me and my juniors during a motivational course at MRSM Transkerian, my degree convo with kak Wahid, the hands of me and my juniors during one jom-amik-gambo-tangan-reramai pose, a picture of us at the bus station where everyone had lowered their body a bit after I told them I hate being the shortest in the picture (Hahaha.. I love this!), a picture of me and arwah Tok Hassan, picture of me, Adi, Is, Uncle Maarof and Dayang eating durian at Menora and so many more. There's even passport pictures of me I had put chronologically which many times have been the butt of jokes here haha..

Oh ye, kenape Ayu byk kotak? The printer box is for when I have to return this printer to Dr Farhan (we had bought it with the grant.. agak² dia mau bg trus tak kat me nanti?!?!) and the smaller box beside it contains only half of the raw data for my MSc. Nak anto gi recycle centre sebenarnye tu.

This one plak is my file/book rack yang sungguh kurang buku. The read hard bound book is my MSc thesis, the other book are manuals I used in my study. HCM 94, HCM2000, MHCM, Arahan Teknik bla.. bla.. Eh, my undergraduate thesis pun ade la (But the one I 'curik' form Dr Farhan.. nak copy tak copy² lagik!). The files contain journals and papers yang sudah lame tidak berusik.

Erkk, baru pasan limau balik Yana kasik tadi ade atas tu tepi mug merah Lie kasik..

Oh ye jugek. Not all cubes ade settee cam mine. Ni sebenarnye from Dr Mail's room. Salleh kemaskan bilik abang dia pastu tatau nak buh kat mane so dia and abg Fadzil came with this 'bright' idea to put it in my cube since its the supposedly the counselling cube.. ceh! Last², jadi tmpt Ayu letak bag je hehe..

i. Don't trust people too much. Sometimes, they're just using you.. then when you get mad, they pretend to be hurt just to make you feel guilty.. but 10 minutes later, they're back to their own tricks!
ii. Sometimes when you want to make a good first impression and try to be nice, it back-fires (As the prob we have with the I**nians here.. *sigh*)
iii. When hurt/mad, don't go running to the first person you see and spill it out the way you want it to sound. You might say something that would hurt other people AND that you can't take back because of your stupid ego.
iv. When there are two sides of a story, listen to both.. and don't just go with the first version you heard!
v. Do not do tomorrow, what you can do today.. yeah yeah! Its an old lesson.. and still I haven't learnt it yet hehe.. I keep having close calls which is quite bad. Takkan nak kene tersepit betul² baru nak learn the lesson Ayu oiiiii..
vi. Listen.. but sometimes, people need to hear you talk too so they won't have to listen to their own demons. Give them time to do that, then listen!

Ok la.. lame attempt at a joke for the title there. Tp seronok jugak nyanyi lagu ni di kale diriku tiade idea untuk memulekan progress report for Dr Farhan.

1) 1st time naik kapal terbang
Must be when I was 2.. Ikut Abah gi UK for his PhD and Mama pun buat degree dia kat sane jugak mase tu.. There were four of us including Iwan. Adi was 'with' us.. kinda! Made in Malaysia but manufactured in Newcastle hehehe..

Uhhh.. lagi la tak pakai! Pengalaman penah tercucuk mase kecik, by cikgu apentah mase dia makeup kan everyone coz kitorg masuk tarian untuk persembahan akhir tahun, masih terbayang². Besides, tidakkah terase leceh?! And yeah, like you Ayeen, I sometimes wear glasses too.. :)

My Day Cream
Erkk.. stumped jugak! Dulu time sekolah pakai Olay (mase tu Olay tak byk bende merepek² cam skrg.. ade Olay Moisturizing Lotion and Olay Moisturizing Cream saje!). Then tukar to Clean and Clear or something like that just because orang kate Ayu cam org tua pakai Olay haha.. pastu bile kulit immune (i.e. berminyak balik), tukar to other products.. then pakai baby lotion jek sebab muke still berminyak je pun. Then abis degree, kak Wahid introduced me to Clinique that actually improved my skin very, very much :) But now, Clinique nye moisturizer tu dah menjadikan kulitku imune and after 6 years of using it, my skin dah start minyak² balik when wearing it.. so guess what I'm wearing now? Good ol' Olay balik hahahah..

My essential Beauty products
Aiyak.. jugek konpius nak menjawab! Hmm.. still loyal to Clinique's cleanser and toner because it suits me the best. Moisturizer as disebut di atas. Bile rajin, malam pakai Clinique Total Turnaround.. and bile rajin means sgt jarang heheh.. Once in 2-3 days, I use the simple St Ives Apricot Scrub. Twice a week, macam² mask dicuba sambil nengok tv :). Compact powder (pakai pagi je, pastu tak heran dah klau ilang haha..) and lipgloss (pun pakai pagi je.. takdenye nak touch-up².. except klau meeting and want people who don't know me to take me seriously! <-- Ade ke camtu?) And yeah, skrg rajin minum Plum Essence.. my skin texture has gotten better, though I'm not sure if its because of this!

My 1st shot of Nescafe (that lead to the addiction!)

Hmm.. was busy doing the writing for my thesis. I'd stay up till 5 in the morning (I notice I work better from midnight onwards! Vampire ke saya ni ye?) then go get some shut eye after Subuh prayers and by 9.30am dah sampai school balik. At first I was ok with it but as the weeks went by, I started getting sleepy and stole naps in the musolla. Then I decided just ONE TIN of Nescafe.. and now I don't seem to get rid of the addiction! Adeh!

My 1st football match

Hahah.. ni ade kene ngene ngan 1st shot of Nescafe gak. During my writing period, kebetulan it coincide with the World Cup. Tambah plak time tu tgh frust tau ade org nak kawen, lagi la cam susah nak tido. Ikutkan, I'd NEVER watch but since I was staying up till 5am, I was usually appointed the unofficial tukang kejut kaki bola. From USM to UTM to Melaka to Sabah/Sarawak tu heheh.. Then sometimes, bile diorg tak bgn, ade ke gi tanye score baper (mau nye si Syafiq ni, ingatnye kak Yong dia tgk sgt laaaa..). So nak tanak, I updated myself with the score just in case they asked. Then one day tu, coming home from school and wasn't actually that sleepy. So I switched on the tube, and voila! A whole new world opened in front of my eyes hahah <--Cheesy!!! It wasn't even one of the football giants pun.. US ke Korea ke apentah.. lawak jugak rasenye. But the match I won't forget is the one between Germany and Argentina. Why? For the first time in my life, we watched something as a family.. with Abah, Ikram, Izati, Iskandar and Sofi on the German's side and me on Argentina. Masyitah didn't wanna be on anyones side but kesian kat me sebab sorang².. and Mama and Umi geleng kepala tengok anak-beranak + kawan² 'bergaduh²' depan TV :)

My 1st stitches

Hahah.. okay! Dunno why THAT came into mind. About 10 years ago, someone punched me in the eye.. Sadly, even after he saw me bleeding, he punched me again at the same spot (which I recently got to know was intentionally done!). My eyelids had this inch-long slit as a result of that. At first I refused to see the doctor, knowing the doctor planned to call the police (and I was right! Had to beg her not to..), but when half my face became swollen, I had to go, afraid of an infection. The doctor wanted to stitch me up, but in order to do that, she had to re-slit my eyelids. Huhu, gile geli! Even bile kene bius, bleh rase ooo scalpel tu slice through my eyelids.. nak gelak pun ade sebab it was actually ticklish! And even when she stitched me up (5 stitches!) pun nak gelak jugak coz I could feel the needle and thread heheh..

My 1st wisdom tooth

Uhhh.. selalu je kene gelak ngan orang sbb geraham bongsu saya baru tumbah tahun lepas hahah.. Ni pun cam tanak tumbuh betul² jek.. They told me, you still have a chance to grow taller as long as your wisdom teeth tak tumbuh lagi.. aiyak! Harapan Ayu utk tinggi sudah musnah! Terpakse terime hakikat akan ketot seumur hidup ini.. and nope, the other three lum tumbuh lagi. I've 29 teeth in all.. nape ye Dr Dzul, can you tell me why?

My 1st high heels

Hehe.. these first heels were courtesy of Adi in the recent Aidilfitri. I warned him if I fell down flat on my face, siap le dia.. ade ke beli kasut camtu kat kakak dia! But I managed to pull it off.. hehe, tak de la susah sgt pun kan.. but I still prefer my flats anyday :) Dan supaye Adi tak kecik ati, I suke la kasut tuuuuu.. I pakai tau!

Pagi² bangun, kul 2.30am dah set jam. Bawak bantal ngan air sumer depan tv, tgk deme tengah nyanyi national anthem memasing. Sedo² kan, dah iklan TV3.. ceh! Miss trus.. pastu trus panjat balik katil sambung tido. Datang keje lambat gak cam Ana, tapi bukan lambat 15 minit, lambat 3 jam hahah.. Gi tolong anto thesis abg Fadzil kat Popular Twelve sbb dia nak mntk tolong bacekan.. uhhh! Nape la diorg ni percaye sgt la Ayu tolong bacekan, macam le Ayu paham jek ape deme nulis tu. Sampai school tengok takde sape pun.. bosan la pulak! Pastu Remy call suh siapkan claim Sg Sedim sbb dia nak kasi kat kak Nab ptg tu.. then gelak² bace post-mortem yang Irnis buat yang sedikit membayangkan perasaan TYBK utk projek tu.. sgt tak kaver hahah! Pastu YM ngan Fisha pasal McD (sbb status Ayu pade hari ini ialah tentang McD :p~). Tghari byebye² staf Awam yang ade workshop kat Bt Feringghi pastu gi kaco kak Jah and kak Ros. Kali ni kak Ros plak korek² pasal aktiviti misteri.. uhhh, bahaye! Kak Ros ni bukan leh caye, bukan leh sorok ape dari dia! Then print claim n post-mortem bg kat Remy sblm men Neopet ku yg dah lame ditinggalkan. Balik umah plak, mandi² sambil berangan² and trus terpacak depan tv and pakse diri tgk bende kat tv saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaampai abis citer Narnia malam tu hehe..

1 hari tu esok ke? Hmm.. sok bgn tatau kul wape hahah, tak leh solat ni membuatkan diriku malas bgn awal. Tp dlm kul 10.00 pg plan nak gi school kot, tgk Ayat² Cinta. Fared bg aritu, tatau bes ke tak so nak tgk sbb Puga pun leh kate besh! Then kul 2.00pm gi Arun Lee utk kelas form 3 (2.15-4.15pm) and form 1 (4.30-6.30pm). Pastu gi ke Bagan Serai untuk kelas form 2 (8.15-10.15mlm). Balik umah bese tengok tv la sampai ngantuk. Then mandi (Ishhh, lambat beno mandinye yek!), and tunggu tgk klau midnight movie kat TV3 bes ke tak.. pastu baru tido :)
